Built on a family farm within the rolling hills of Somerset, Orchard Lodge is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom open plan living space model. A traditional timber framed unit build with pitched roof and velux windows positioned to utilise all the natural light.
The client chose a horizontal ‘red cedar’ clad treated finish to maintain its warm red colour. A classic cumbrian grey slate tile for the roof and our traditional aluminium powder coated bifold doors and windows to compliment the build and support the thermal insulation.
As an extra touch, we provided a Millboard weathered vintage smoked oak decking to complete the look. Millboard is a composite decking, finished with an environmentally friendly polymer resin, literally maintenance free with a 25 year warranty, very handy on a working farm.
The lodge was built for the grandparents Mr and Mrs Buxton to be hands on for the grandchildren and the family business. Learn more about our bespoke garden annexes.
Everything we were hoping for...
The team were very professional, working with us to help choose the right design for our requirements, from their extensive range.
From planning stage, to foundations and the finished build, they were there every step of the way, giving expert advice but allowing us to make our own decisions and choices, so that we felt completely at ease throughout the whole process.
The quality of materials used for external and internal finishes and fixtures and fittings, has been outstanding.
They have provided us with a home to be really proud of and a property which has surprised our friends with its quality and originality of design.
The attention to detail and the skills of the team has been a pleasure to witness.
